In this course you will learn knowledge and skills required to provide a First Aid response to a casualty whether they are injured or ill until Medical Aid arrives. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Under the Workplace Health & Safety Legislation this is the minimum qualification for a first aider within a workplace; club or community group where there is a duty of care.
^This First Aid qualification also requires you to complete HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which is delivered on the same day and is included in the total cost. Please book your place for CPR training HERE!
Upon successful completion of the unit of competency, the student will be awarded HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
Under the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, it is recommended that HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is refreshed every three (3) years in line with industry standards.
Up to one (1) month study duration.
Face-to-Face students eight (8) hour class delivery.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level one (1).
All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in.
