HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

In this CPR course in Cairns you will learn knowledge and skills required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines until medical aid arrives. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

The course also incorporates training and assessment relating to the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

COURSE CONTENT

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation*

• Scene assessment & management
• Recognition of life threatening conditions & response
• Accessing emergency services (EMS) and convey incident details
• Casualty assessment
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation for Adult, Child & Infant
• Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AEDs)
• Management of an unconscious breathing casualty
• Convey incident details to emergency services

*MiHaven Training (RTO #40928) has a Third-Party Agreement in place with First Aid Academy (RTO #40920). First Aid Academy is a third-party training provider who conducts training and assessment services on behalf of MiHaven Training. Upon completion, you will be issued with a National Accredited Statement of Attainment by MiHaven Training.

This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This course is delivered face to face in the classroom, at the MiHaven Training campus or at a suitable location.
