This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability).
This qualification will provide you a pathway to work in aged care facilities, the community and supported residential services. Aged Care facilities include private, public, retirement villages, nursing homes and hostels. It also provides you with a pathway to work supporting people with a disability in their homes and communities, or for a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider.
The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) is delivered within 12 months in either a classroom environment with weekly classroom sessions at various delivery locations, online or via distance learning.
As this qualification requires completing mandatory work placement hours you will need to complete both a Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check. If either screening checks identifies that you have a criminal history, you may be disqualified from being eligible to undertake placement and assessment, which would affect your course outcomes. You may also need to provide a First Aid Certificate, Federal Police Check, Manual Handling Certificate and/or relevant vaccination records.
To achieve CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), fifteen (15) units must be completed including nine (9) core units and six (6) elective units.

The tuition fee is the base cost of a course and does not include the costs of additional material and incidental fees. Tuition fees vary by course. Tuition fees will also vary if students are eligible for recognition of existing skills via a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or can be granted Credit Transfer (CT) for units. Tuition fees may be paid by the student, employer or other third party, but must be paid prior to commencement of any course. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees.
Fee for Service Payments
Students can negotiate a deposit and payment plan when the total course fee exceeds $1,500* with MiHaven Training prior to enrolment. Please speak with the MiHaven Training Team during your application for enrolment interview. A deposit is required prior to the commencement of your first class.
*Fees in excess of $1,500 cannot be paid to MiHaven Training at any one time in accordance with Clause 7.3 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
Students are required to complete mandatory 120 hours (minimum) of work placement. Please note you will need to obtain both a Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check. If either screening receives a negative notice, you may be disqualified from being eligible to undertake placement and assessment, which would affect your course outcomes. You may also need to provide a First Aid Certificate, Federal Police Check and/or relevant vaccination records.

If you are a new enrolling student, undertaking Nationally recognised training, you will need a USI number to receive your Qualification/Statement of Attainment. If you do not have a USI you will not be able to receive a qualification. To create a USI account, go to the website: www.usi.gov.au
