VET in Schools 2026 Information
The VET in Schools 2026 program helps secondary school students prepare for post-school employment by providing access to a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification that aligns to their chosen career pathway or helps them to transition into post-school vocational qualifications.
VET in Schools 2026 covers training fees for VET courses that are aligned to jobs and skills in demand, putting secondary school students on a path to employment and further VET opportunities. Students may also get access to quality career information and connections between schools and local businesses, supported by Regional School Industry Partnership Managers located in state school regions across Queensland.
VET in Schools 2026 is a multifaceted approach to supporting students to explore career and training pathways that match their goals and includes:
- The Gateway to Industry Schools program
- A pilot of Career Tasters
- Subsidised certificate training (certificate I or II qualifications) delivered through general training pathways
- School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs)
Under VET in Schools, an eligible Queensland school student may access:
- One (1) funded VET in Schools general training pathway in either a certificate I or II qualification while they are still at school.
