FUNDING STREAM
This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. It includes setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing products made using timber and non-timber materials. Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry and will earn up to six (6) Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) credits.
Fee-For-Service students up to forty-eight (48) months (full-time) study duration.
Career Start (Apprenticeship) students up to forty-eight (48) months (full-time) / ninety-six (96) months (part-time/school-based) nominal duration.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).
All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in. CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is required for all worksite-based practical observation tasks. Additional security clearances, checks, certificates and/or vaccinations (e.g. National Police Check, Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, Manual Handling certificate and/or flu shot etc.) may also be required by the owner and/or operator of the organisation where you undertake any workplace/worksite-based practical observation tasks.
The successful achievement of this qualification requires the completion of thirty-four (34) units of competency, made up of twenty-seven (27) core units and seven (7) elective units, consisting of;
