This qualification provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this qualification allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction. This qualification is designed to introduce students to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.
Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways and will earn up to four (4) Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) credits.
VET in Schools 2026 / Fee-For-Service students up to six (6) months (full-time) study duration.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level two (2).
All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in. CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is required for all worksite-based practical observation tasks. Additional security clearances, checks, certificates and/or vaccinations (e.g. National Police Check, Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, Manual Handling certificate and/or flu shot etc.) may also be required by the owner and/or operator of the organisation where you undertake any workplace/worksite-based practical observation tasks.
The successful achievement of this qualification requires the completion of ten (10) units of competency, made up of five (5) core units and five (5) elective units, consisting of:
