This skill set equips individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to provide person-centred support to people with disability across a range of care settings. It emphasises a strengths-based, individualised approach that respects the rights, preferences, and goals of each person. Designed for those who hold a Certificate III qualification or higher in Community Services, Health, or a related field, this skill set is suited to workers in care and support roles who wish to deepen their capability in delivering tailored, empowering, and inclusive support to individuals with disability.
This Skill Set includes the following units:
Upon successfully demonstrating competency in this unit, the student will be awarded CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability Skill Set.
Career Boost (General Training) / Fee-For-Service students up to four (4) months study duration.
Career Boost (General Training): Students must be a new or existing worker in the Community Services and Health Industry in a role involving provision of direct client care or support. Students must already hold a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
It is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).
Fee-For-Service: There are no entry requirements for this qualification. While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).
All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in.
