This skill set provides individuals with the knowledge and practical skills required to deliver person-centred support to older people across a variety of care settings. It focuses on working within the scope of an established individualised care plan and under appropriate delegation, ensuring that support is tailored to the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each individual. Designed for those who hold a Certificate III qualification or higher in Community Services, Health, or a related field, this skill set is ideal for workers in care and support roles who are looking to enhance their capabilities in delivering respectful, effective, and person-focused support to older adults.
This Skill Set includes the following units:
Upon successfully demonstrating competency in this unit, the student will be awarded CHCSS00129 Individual Support – Ageing Skill Set.
Career Boost (General Training) / Fee-For-Service students up to four (4) months study duration.
Career Boost (General Training): Students must be a new or existing worker in the Community Services and Health Industry in a role involving provision of direct client care or support. Students must already hold a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
It is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).
Fee-For-Service: There are no entry requirements for this qualification. While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).
All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in.
