There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

While there are no formal course entry requirements, it is recommended that students be able to read, write, have numeracy skills and communicate in English to at least Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level three (3).

All prospective students are required to complete prior to enrolment a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Assessment. This ensures a student’s skills and competencies including their language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy are suitable for the training product in which they would like to enrol in. Students may be required to obtain security clearances, checks, certificates and/or vaccinations (e.g. National Police Check, First Aid, Manual Handling certificate and/or flu shot etc.) by the owner and/or operator of the organisation where you undertake any workplace-based practical observation tasks.  

The successful achievement of this qualification requires the completion of thirteen (13) units of competency, made up of six (6) core units and seven (7) elective units, consisting of; 

  • Two (2) elective units must be selected from Group A
  • One (1) elective unit must be selected from Group B
  • For the remaining four (4) elective units: 
    • Up to four (4) units may be selected from Groups A – G 
    • If not listed, up to three (3) units may be selected from a Certificate II, Certificate III or Certificate IV from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course. 

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the Australian Quality Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Specialisations

This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to:

  • For specialisation in Customer Engagement, 4 elective units must be selected from Group D
  • For specialisation in Business Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group E
  • For specialisation in Medical Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group F
  • For specialisation in Records and Information Management, 4 elective units must be selected from Group G.

The code and title of each unit are provided as well as an indication of pre-requisite requirements. Pre-requisite unit(s) must be assessed before assessment of any unit of competency with an asterisk.

Elective Units (Group B – Business Competence):

  • BSBPEF301 Organise personal work priorities

Elective Units (Group C – Teamwork and Relationships):

  • BSBXTW301 Work in a team

Elective Units (Group D – Customer and Client Engagement):

  • BSBOPS304 Deliver and monitor a service to customers
  • BSBOPS305 Process customer complaints
